Now Hiring: Experienced Weighmaster Scrap Metal Recycling Location: Locust Grove, GA Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM | Saturday, 8 AM - 12:00 PM Industry: Scrap Metal Recycling (Ferrous &amp; Non-Ferrous) M&amp;M Recycling is seeking an Experienced Scale Operator to join our fast-paced and growing team in Locust Grove, GA. If you have a sharp eye for detail, know your way around a truck scale, and take pride in accuracy and efficiency, we want to hear from you! As a Scale Operator, you will play a critical role in our daily operations, ensuring the correct weighing, documentation, and compliance of all incoming and outgoing materials. You'll work closely with drivers, equipment operators, and office staff to support the flow of material across our facility. <h3>Key Responsibilities:</h3><ul><li>Accurately weigh inbound and outbound trucks using certified large-scale truck scales</li><li>Identify and document ferrous and non-ferrous material types and corresponding weights</li><li>Issue weight tickets and ensure all documentation is complete and compliant</li><li>Communicate clearly with customers, drivers, and scale operators to maintain material flow</li><li>Follow company and state regulations regarding certified weights and transactions</li><li>Enter weights and data into our digital system or ticketing platform</li><li>Monitor and maintain the accuracy and cleanliness of the scale area</li><li>Assist with safety protocols and yard operations as needed</li></ul><h3>Requirements:</h3><ul><li>5+ years of experience operating truck scales in a scrap metal or industrial setting</li><li>Strong understanding of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and their classifications</li><li>Familiarity with DOT and state Weights &amp; Measures regulations</li><li>Ability to work in outdoor conditions and remain alert in a busy yard environment</li><li>Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills</li><li>Basic computer and data entry skills (experience with ticketing or inventory systems is a plus)</li><li>Must be punctual, reliable, and safety-focused</li><li>Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required</li></ul><h3>Why Join M&amp;M Recycling?</h3><ul><li>Competitive pay with weekly schedule stability and opportunity for overtime (if hourly)</li><li>Work for a family-run company that values progress, production, and people</li><li>Be part of a supportive, safety-first culture</li><li>Opportunities to cross-train and grow within the company</li><li>This is a non-exempt position with a $60,000 per year base salary. </li></ul> *M&amp;M Recycling completes pre-employment drug testing
