We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Non-Ferrous Operations Manager to lead and strengthen our non-ferrous operations across multiple Georgia locations, with the main location in Locust Grove, Ga. This isn't a desk job. We're looking for someone who knows scrap metal, understands how to run a profitable yard, enjoys developing people, and isn't afraid to jump in alongside the team. Reporting directly to our COO, you'll oversee yard managers and supervisors while ensuring our non-ferrous operations run safely, efficiently, and profitably--from purchasing and processing through inventory management and shipping.<h3> </h3><h3>What You'll Be Responsible For</h3> Operations &amp; Material Flow<ul><li>Oversee daily non-ferrous purchasing, grading, processing, and shipping across multiple yards.</li><li>Coordinate with Trading and Transportation to manage material flow, inter-yard transfers, and outbound shipments.</li><li>Ensure material is processed to specification, accurately graded, and ready to ship on schedule.</li><li>Identify bottlenecks, improve productivity, and protect profitability.</li></ul>Inventory &amp; Accountability<ul><li>Maintain accurate inventory by grade and location, including twice-weekly reconciliations.</li><li>Monitor purchasing volumes, processing output, inventory variances, and material movement.</li><li>Provide reliable inventory reporting to support trading and sales decisions.</li></ul>Team Leadership &amp; Development<ul><li>Lead, coach, and hold yard managers and supervisors accountable for performance.</li><li>Oversee staffing, scheduling, employee evaluations, and performance improvement.</li><li>Develop consistent training programs for material identification, grading, processing, equipment operation, and customer service.</li><li>Build a culture of teamwork, ownership, safety, and continuous improvement.</li></ul>Safety, Compliance &amp; Yard Standards<ul><li>Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, stormwater, scrap purchasing, and other applicable regulations.</li><li>Oversee equipment inspections, preventive maintenance coordination, safety meetings, and recordkeeping.</li><li>Maintain clean, organized, secure, and efficient yards and warehouses.</li><li>Establish consistent customer service standards, including accurate grading, fair pricing, and efficient scale operations.</li></ul><h3>What We're Looking For</h3><ul><li>5+ years of operations management experience in scrap metal recycling or a comparable material-handling industry.</li><li>2+ years managing multiple locations with direct oversight of on-site managers.</li><li>Strong working knowledge of non-ferrous metals, material identification, grading, and processing, including baling, wire chopping, shearing, and separation.</li><li>Proven experience managing inventory accuracy, reconciliation, and operational performance.</li><li>Knowledge of applicable safety, environmental, and scrap recycling regulations.</li><li>Experience training employees, developing supervisors, and managing performance.</li><li>Comfortable using inventory management, equipment inspection, and safety reporting systems.</li><li>Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills.</li><li>Willingness to travel between Georgia locations regularly and work outdoors alongside yard crews and heavy equipment.</li></ul><h3>Why Join M&amp;M Recycling?</h3> We're a family-owned company that believes in developing people, rewarding hard work, and building long-term careers.Our values aren't just words on a wall:<ul><li>Protect What Matters -- Take care of our people, our customers, and our business.</li><li>Jump In, No Matter What -- Lead by example and do what needs to be done.</li><li>Get So Good, It's Obvious -- Set high standards and deliver results.</li><li>Deliver the Win-Win -- Build relationships that benefit everyone.</li></ul>If you know the metal recycling industry, take pride in running a strong operation, and want the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across a growing company, we'd love to hear from you.
