M&amp;M Recycling is a family-owned scrap metal processing company dedicated to safety, productivity, and the highest quality standards in the recycling industry. We purchase, process, and sell both ferrous and non-ferrous metals while maintaining a culture built on teamwork, integrity, and growth. We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our operations team. This role is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of industrial and heavy equipment used in our processing yard. The ideal candidate is mechanically skilled, safety-conscious, and experienced in servicing large machinery in a demanding industrial environment. Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment including:</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Cranes with magnets and grapples</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Excavators</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Bobcats</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Forklifts</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Metal chopping machines</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Metal shredders</li><li class="ql-indent-1">Roll-off trucks, box trucks, and other fleet</li><li>Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and execute timely repairs to minimize downtime.</li><li>Inspect equipment regularly to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations.</li><li>Maintain accurate maintenance logs and repair records.</li><li>Collaborate with yard supervisors and operations team to prioritize repairs and maintenance tasks.</li><li>Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Minimum 3 years of experience as an industrial mechanic or heavy equipment technician (scrap metal or recycling industry experience preferred).</li><li>Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.</li><li>Proficient with welding and fabrication repairs (preferred).</li><li>Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.</li></ul>Physical Requirements<ul><li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in outdoor conditions year-round.</li><li>Comfortable working around large, moving equipment and noisy environments.</li></ul>Benefits<ul><li>Competitive pay based on experience of $30 to $35.50 per hour, based on experience. </li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Weekly Overtime Opportunities</li><li>Paid time off and holidays</li><li>Opportunities for career growth in a family-oriented company</li></ul>Location: Locust Grove, GA Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM | Saturday, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM (44 hours per week guaranteed, extra hours as needed)
