Join Our Team Build a Career in the Scrap Metal Industry M&amp;M Recycling, a leading scrap metal recycling company, is seeking a hardworking, reliable, and safety-conscious Equipment Operator to join our team. This operator will be responsible for operating our Scrap Metal Baler, a Harris Centurion Baler, to process and prepare scrap metal for sale. No prior baler experience is necessary we'll train the right candidate! Hours are 8-5pm M-F and 8-12 SAT (subject to change) <h3>Key Responsibilities:</h3><ul><li>Safely operate baling equipment to process clean, sorted metal scrap (training provided on Harris Centurion).</li><li>Sort, clean, and separate different types of scrap metals prior to baling.</li><li>Assist truck drivers by guiding them to proper unloading locations.</li><li>Strap and weigh bales for inventory and shipping purposes.</li><li>Perform daily pre-trip inspections and routine maintenance checks on the baler.</li><li>Maintain a clean, organized work area around the machine and baling zone.</li><li>Support the team by performing general labor tasks such as cleaning, preparing material, and assisting with yard operations.</li><li>Cross-train on other equipment and responsibilities to support overall yard efficiency.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications:</h3><ul><li>Previous experience in a scrap yard, recycling facility, or operating heavy equipment is a plus, but not required.</li><li>Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.</li><li>Strong attention to detail to ensure only clean, market-ready bales are produced.</li><li>Team-oriented with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.</li><li>Ability to lift, push, or pull heavy objects and perform physical labor throughout the shift.</li></ul><h3>Why Work With Us?</h3><ul><li>On-the-job training for specialized machinery</li><li>Career growth opportunities in equipment operation and metal processing through our Career Tracks</li><li>Competitive pay and benefits</li><li>Be part of a family-run business that values progress, production, and people</li></ul>
